Lars Otto Naess is a Research Fellow at IDS, co-leading their Resource Politics and Environmental Change Cluster. He is a social scientist with 25 years of experience of work on climate change, development and agriculture, co-convening the joint IDS-University of Sussex MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy. His research centres on the social and institutional dimensions of tackling climate change in a multi-risk context, political economy of policy processes on climate change at national and sub-national levels, and the role of local knowledge for adaptation to climate change. His work has a strong focus on social differentiation of climate change, including justice and equity. He is domain editor for Climate and Development for WIREs Climate Change, and associate editor of Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems.
